ING, AB Inbev, Proximus and Herbalife win inaugural Belgian Sponsorship Awards

The very first Belgian Sponsorship Awards ceremony took place last night in the elegant surroundings of a sold out Vaudeville Theatre in Brussels. Created and produced by VAAV Communication, the Awards saw the major brands of Belgium including ING, Proximus, AG Insurance, BNP Paribas, Telenet and many other big names networking and sharing inspiring examples of best practice sponsorship. The winners on the night were ING for Best Sports Sponsorship of the Royal Belgian Football Association, and the bank also took the prize of Best Arts and Culture Sponsorship for Favours Festival, which offers free facilities for young festival goers. The Awards also recognised sponsorship's contribution to society by showcasing winning examples such as Proximus with Safer Internet, a children's outreach program for Internet security. Showing that good work can be done without massive budgets, Herbalife took the Best Low Budget award for their work with the national football team. Congratulations to all!

The very hotly disputed Best Activation award was won by AB InBev for their "We Are Ready" World Cup campaign. They were delighted to hear from the guest of honour Karen Earl, Chairman of the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) that their case will go on to represent Belgium in the ESA Excellence Awards on 29th January and attempt to win the prize for "Best of Europe".
